Why Thailand Moved Back to Prescription-Led Access

The Authorised Practitioner

Where PT28 Fits into the System

A responsible dispensary needs a clear chain between the practitioner’s decision, the patient’s active PT33, the amount supplied and the shop’s records. A medical consultation does not complete the dispensary’s duties, and a retail receipt does not replace a prescription.

How a Patient Can Enter the System
Patients seeking to buy weed legally can enter the Thailand medical cannabis system through an online consultation or an in-store pathway at a participating dispensary.
Online Before Visiting a Dispensary
Patients can complete the medical intake before attending a private video consultation. A first online consultation costs THB 600, while a renewal consultation costs THB 400. ThaiCannaMed also offers an annual plan costing THB 2,400 per year, which includes 12 consultations at THB 200 each.
When the medical intake has been completed in advance, the consultation with the licensed TTM doctor usually takes approximately 1–5 minutes. The complete patient journey normally takes approximately 5–15 minutes from start to finish. Doctors are available daily from 10:00 AM until 2:00 AM Thailand time. These are estimated timings rather than guarantees, and purchasing a consultation or annual plan does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued or renewed.
If the TTM doctor approves treatment, the patient receives a digital PT33 and can present it at a registered dispensary for verification. The consultation and retail transaction remain separate stages.
Patients can also attend an in-person consultation at Wonderland Clinic in Bangkok. Advance booking is recommended. At a Participating Green Network Dispensary
At a participating location, the patient scans the in-store QR code, completes the intake and speaks privately with a TTM doctor by video. If approved, the digital PT33 can be verified before the dispensary supplies the authorised amount.
The complete patient journey normally takes approximately 5–15 minutes from start to finish. - Possess only cannabis supplied within the authorised amount

- Never share or resell it
